CAST IRON OOLONG - 2019
A scented oolong made from a medium roasted tiekwayin and juniper berries. Inspired by an old friend and a desire for something new. Light bodied, bright notes of juniper commingled with the lightly roasted vegetal character of the tea.
100 grams loose tea (approximately 14 small pots worth), lovingly packed in our tea matchbox. Includes metal clip to reseal bag once opened.

HOW IT'S MADE:
Juniper berries are gently warmed on cast iron skillets until fragrant and essential oils are brought to the surface. The juniper is then folded into the tea and this blend is allowed to rest. The process is repeated until the desired balance is created. Then the tea and juniper blend is poured onto a slightly raised surface, and the round juniper berries roll away from the tea. Once 99% of the juniper is removed the tea is ready to pack.
We recommend steeping this tea in a gaiwan or small pot, using 7 grams, or two tablespoons, of dry tea and with a water temperature between 190-200 F. Steep for 30-45 seconds for each bath and repeat as often as you like.
